There are several stages of Alzheimer's that people move to the point that independence is impossible. Alzheimer's disease is a disease that effects of the neurological processes of the brain. This condition begins to destroy the cells in the brain, which affects the thinking and decision-making process.
Below is a basic list of the stages of Alzheimer's disease that a person suffering from the condition that goes through, or has suffered.
1. One of the early stages of Alzheimer's disease is memory loss. At first only small things that people forget. Forget things like that has one of the key, not an event to remember, and so on. At first this seems not serious and is usually associated with a natural slowdown due to age.
2. Another of the stages of Alzheimer's disease is the inability to make good decisions. The person who suffers from Alzheimer's disease begins to be uncertain about basic things, and this will lead to greater confusion.
3. A new stage of Alzheimer's disease will be poor motor skills. This is when the person can start to drop things or bump into furniture, or even have difficulties to open doors and operate kitchen equipment.
4. A common characteristic of the stages of Alzheimer's disease is the speech that begins to be affected. What happens here is that the ability to use the correct words in a sentence during a conversation becomes affected. Also jump from one topic to another during the usual conversation with a person suffering from the disease.
5. The ability to reconize familiar faces and places are also affected. This can be very difficult for close family members to take, and can be stressful on them, as well as the person in question.
6. One of the last stages of Alzheimer's disease is when one reaches the point where the patient can not be left alone at any point in their lives. Many patients may become a danger to themselves. Forgetting to turn off the oven, leaving a bathroom at the long term, not remembering to take medication, etc.. At this stage the patient does not have a very strong capacity to remember, and must be constantly monitored and controlled in this respect.
Alzheimer's disease is a terrible disease, not only for the person suffering from it but also for people who need to see someone they love, that through him. Stages of Alzheimer's disease progressively worsens. It is important to be aware of the different stages, as the earlier a person can be diagnosed, the fastest of any medication to stop the disease can be initiated.
